Kayla -Director of Operations
Kayla brings over a decade of experience in visual design, marketing, publishing, and business development to Jet Star. Based out of Bend, Oregon, she uses the amazing natural world as her inspiration for her artwork and clean design aesthetic.
As a self-ascribed bibliophile, Kayla has a true passion for literature and believes the written word can transform lives. With a background in comparative literature and journalism, she brings her varied expertise and critical insight to both the business and creative components of the organization.
When she's not working, Kayla is busy starting a non-profit Children's Museum in her own town, and spending time exploring and playing with her own two kiddos.
Karlene Petitt -Founder
Karlene Petitt, founder of Jet Star and jack of all trades, brings the vision and tenacious can do attitude to Jet Star. Originally starting as an author herself, Karlene quickly noted how difficult and confusing the self-publishing process could be. Seeing the need for something better, she began building and crafting the Jet Star business model.
Now Karlene is committed to making this process easy, and help others achieve their dreams of not only creating an amazing piece of work, but sharing that work with the world.
Today Karlene serves as one our top Story Editors, and is our number one consultant helping to coach authors on self-marketing techniques and building a fan base.
